I want to replace the speaker in a Fender Side Kick Cabinet. There is a Fender 4 Ohm Speaker in this cabinet now, but I would like to replace it with a JBL--which JBL 15 inch Speaker is the Best.

My ONLY Speakers I use are the alnico Magnet JBL; as they sound much better than the ceramic Mag JBL "E" series.
120 is 12" and 130 is "15" speaker.
So the Alnico JBL 130's are:
JBL D-130
JBL D-130F(F-for Fender)
JBL K-130(is what I use a little more wattage)
Finding one of those Alnico mag JBL in 4 ohm originally are hard to find. RE-Cones sound off cause those re-cone parts haven't been made in over 25 year for the alnico; so folks use other parts....YUK!!
Even if a Tube Amp wants to see 4 ohm; it's ok to use a 8 ohm...but don't do that in a solid state amp.
Ok Enjoy trying to find; but look and look and you will.

You right on talking JBL’s Ray Wylie Hubbard sings a song saying “Fender Twin and JBL’s! I love them too! I like the Black Widows in my big Peavey Bassman amps. Nothing like a Tele or Strat or Steel flanged up to a Twin Reverb and JBL’s in my World!

Have a Great Sunday Rick!

I've got two 12 inch Alnico 5 12 inch Speakers from a twofold speaker system that I used with a David Bogen Tube Head for a PA System when I did music Professionally in the late 1950's--early 1960's when I lived in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area; but followed my Civil Service Job to Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana where I retired and live now. Could I use these Speakers? Would they be good sounding for the pedal steel?

Dave Grafe,

Thank you for the info and offer of the speaker; but I already ordered a speaker.
