This Creamer features “the works” - walnut cabinet, NOS tubes and the VVR power scaling option.
This amp has very light use and is in excellent condition. Very minor wear on the handle
This is your chance to pick up one of today’s hottest amp builds for a substantial discount.
It would cost over $4000 for a new one:
20 watt Creamer - $3500, NOS tubes - $450, walnut cabinet - $200, VVR power scaling option - $100, custom padded slip cover - $90, shipping - $100.
NOS Tubes offer another dimension to the tone and feel of the amp – definitely worth the price.
The NOS tubes in this Creamer are: Tung Sol “halo getter” 12AX7A in the preamp Reverb is driven by an RCA 12AT7The back end of the amp are 2 RCA 12AX7A 6V6 power tubes, RCA - sounds super rich.Rectifier is a mislabeled Sylvania 5AR4 (it says 5AV4 but it’s got a 5AR4 inside the glass)
Hands down, this is the best sounding amp I have ever played – Premium hand selected / hand wired components with NOS tubes is an incredible combination!
I’ll ship via Fed Ex to the lower 48 on receipt on confirmed payment via PayPal and will require signature for delivery unless instructed otherwise. This amp is listed elsewhere and will be sold to the buyer whose payment is received first.
From the Builder, Tim Marcus:
Blackface frontend with reverb and tremolo into a cathode biased tweed style power amp give the Creamer an amazing feel and gorgeous woody guitar tone with just the right amount of breakup. A lot of people ask: why build a Princeton Reverb type amplifier with cathode bias? My answer is simple - nothing responds like a cathode biased amplifier, and nothing sounds better than the Princeton circuit. I always design amps based on my own experience and needs, and I wanted to find a balance between the Princeton sound and the Tweed era amplifiers. Also, I wanted my amp to be very versatile - so I designed it with an adjustable cathode bias circuit. The user can easily substitute 6L6 or 6V6 output tubes with no need for rebias. [This amp features the VVR power scaling option – 6V6 and 6L6 power tubes are still interchangeable] Inside of the chassis, you will find an internal bias adjustment in case you want to fine tune the cathode bias. With 6V6 the amp puts out about 20 watts into 8ohms and has sweet breakup. Because of cathode bias, and the cathodyne phase inverter, the amp has notes of a Tweed Deluxe in the way that it breaks up when pushed hard. Put a pair of 6L6s in and you get a bit of more low end, subtler mids, and a touch more headroom. The tremolo circuit in the Creamer is unique - it does not have bias modulated tremolo like a Princeton Reverb does because of the cathode bias. The result is a very rich sounding tremolo which does not compromise the life of the output tubes or create crossover distortion. It remains deep at all volumes. Like all Milkman amplifiers, the Guitar Amplifier is built using the finest possible components onto a turret board, and is hand wired with Mojotone cloth covered wire which is heat shrunk at the ends to prevent fraying of the dielectric.
