Here’s a fun little trick I’ve stumbled across.
It is pretty difficult to get the hang of and doesn’t exactly sound legit, but other than that, it’s hella fun.
Doing crazy stuff so you don’t have to. Lol

If I remember correctly there's actually mention of this with one of the older Whammy variants instruction manual they make direct reference to one of the harmony settings being used for a "steel guitar sound".

I wouldn't know I use mine on guitar solely to go directly into the upper octave stratosphere and give every dog in ear shot a migraine.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

And by popular demand, here's another Whammy pedal steel video. Laughing
I'm getting a little better at but I am working on modifying a pedal to give me the crescendo I am looking for in lieu of using a volume pedal (maybe a little too difficult to pull off a volume pedal AND Whammy pedal together).

You're certainly becoming more effective in using this pedal for this effect....between this pedal, slants, and string pulls......you can get a convincing pedal steel sound without palm levers......
