I'm looking for a tab for "Must be somebody else you've known" by the International Submarine band.
I'm willing to pay for someone's efforts to tab this out if it doesn't exist.

Nice. That tab is pretty close. The beauty of Youtube is that you can click on the 'settings' icon (the little gear cog) and slow it down to 25% speed.
The lick that's at 1:48 to 1:49, the first five notes are:
8th string.... 11th fret, while ringing, slide to 14th fret

All those hits are blocked really hard, and the tricky part for me is having to hit the 6th string twice, in rapid succession. JayDee does NOT do the typical thing of picking once on 6, then pedaling into the next note; both notes are picked and blocked. At that tempo, it's too fast for me to double-thumb so I use different fingers.
Also, when he gets to the 3rd string at the end of the lick, it's open, but he instantly pedals into it.
The rest of the tab looks good. Aside from the fast and clean blocking, I think the aspect that makes it cool -- and more than just a straight scale run -- is that loopy chromatic move on the 5th string. |

I've learned that lick. I'm definitely working on the pick blocking
The issue I'm having trouble with is the intro. It sounds like a dominant 7th lick.
Would any of you have any direction to learn it? |

Pretty sure he's palm blocking all that. "Palm blocking" can be any part of your hand, but mostly back edge (think karate chop) or fingers that are curled under. It was a really popular thing to do in that era to get that really tight, fast block, with the hand bouncing up and down on the strings... but that sound has fallen by the wayside. |
