Hey guys, I'm looking for some good lap steel CDs for playing in my truck. Like mostly classic (Hank, Lefty) style music with some of the better known players. Any suggestions? Do not need singing. TIA John

You might check out Wayne Hancock with Eddie Rivers, “Tulsa” from 2006. Rivers tears it up.

To add to Brooks's recommendation I'd say check out all Wayne's albums. There are some great steel players on them.

Thanks for the replies, never heard of Wayne before and he sounds good, but really just wanting the lap steel. While searching for Eddie's cds ran across a Noel Boggs album in cd format. Grabbed it. Thanks, John

If you enjoy your Boggs CD (and most likely you will), check out Joaquin Murphey. Many of the Spade Cooley compilations feature both Boggs and Murphey.

This CD has most of the best of Jerry Byrd’s early stuff, my highest recommendation!
