I've got a 70's MSA Classic, and the legs rattle a ton. I thought it was the rods on the undercarriage making noise, but it's actually the legs themselves. Any tips for getting the rattle dampened? I assume it's the inner leg bouncing around against the outer leg. |

Hey Jordan. I had the same issue with my Fender Artist. When I disassembled the leg components I found that the vinyl cap was missing from the end of the inner tube inserts.
I bought some vinyl end caps from amazon which fixed the problem. I put up a post about this a few months back but I can't find it now.
It that is your problem and you tear down the leg assembly, just be sure to reinstall all the parts back correctly.
Good luck. |

If the little plastic vinyl cap is missing and not in the leg. And you cannot find the proper cap. 3 or 4 wraps of a good tape on the very end of the inter tube will stop vibration against the outer tube.
I once had a guitar I was having clutch problems with, When the inter tube was removed, It had about 3 wraps of Duct Tape on the end of the inter tube. |
