You may be familiar with this novelty piano classic by Zez Confrey through Chet Atkins’s arrangement of it. I really enjoy playing this and meticulously arranged it for C6.

Samuel, I did an arrangement a year ago and moved on to other pieces. When I left it, I didn't achieve the tempo I wanted, so when I came back to it a few days ago on a whim, I decided to see what I could do to bring it up to at least 200 bpm. That meant reworking a few of the parts. Once I started doing that, I found a groove that I wanted to utilize, so in the process of rearranging, I added a few other little twists that I really like.
One of the things that I did off script was inspired by the Band-In-A-Box guitar track that wrongly played a C7 chord as opposed to the tonic C chord. Though it isn't diatonically or functionally correct, I decided to use it and added a cool C13 arpeggio in a few spots.
Since I am using a 7 string C6 tuning with an A on the bottom, there is a melody note that is below the A that I can't play, so I rephrased the melody in a way that I think improves the piece for my purposes.
But for right hand technique, I really have to warm up for the open string arpeggios in the beginning, but it is the G13 and CMaj7 arpeggios that follow that are the hardest for me. So, yeah, a little warming up and only about a 75% success rate.
I just think it is important to look for new material to bring to the steel guitar's instrumental repertoire. Tired of the old ones.

I remember when Chet Atkins arrangement was published in GP. I think there was one of those floppy vinyl records with it. Like the rockabilly approach.
