The Electrosteel is an incredible invention by Jeff Snyder of Snyderphonics that uses the interface of a pedal steel as a synth control. This to pedal steel is what the synth is to the piano.
Description from Jeff: "The Electrosteel is an experiment to try to use the expressive power of the pedal steel guitar interface for synthesis control. I'd like to release it as a product with Snyderphonics, at some point. The current prototype has 12 strings, 5 foot pedals, and 5 knee levers (vertical lever on left knee). It does not actually have vibrating strings - the strings you pluck are damped, and just used for plucking and muting detection. A sensor detects the bar position of the left hand."
Check it out for yourself. This thing is so badass!!! Including some links and a great podcast where Jeff talks more about it.

It does look promising, and well done up to this point! Congratulations. It had to take a tremendous amount of effort to develop this. |

This could be interesting. I can see the potential for the Electrosteel to add depth and breadth to the Pedal Steel Guitar instrument category. The Electrosteel could be the "shot in the arm" The Pedal Steel Guitar has been wanting and move it into other genres.
Good vision and innovation! _________________ blah, blah, blah.
