Hi all, first post! Happy to be here
I wasn't sure exactly where to post this but since I'm a non-pedal player I thought here. I was bugging the guys at my local music store getting a nut riser to put on an old 24 inch scale Stella to turn into an acoustic steel. He showed me something they'd had around forever, an old Nick Manoloff steel and kindly just said I could have it.
Aside from the cool history involved, I took it home and tried it, and it was so scratchy! There's no big gouges in it, but enough tiny little scratches to make sense. Any ideas how to smooth this out short of getting power tools involved? I would love to be able to use this!
Mike

Good call, I didn't even think of that. Oddly thebtony scratches (there are many, just hard to see) are lengthwise along the steel. 🤷
There are some horizontal too. I would really love to get this operational and use this old thing |

I have one of these and they’re plated steel, so you would have to polish and replate…probably have the plating stripped and then polish and replate….

I had used an identical Manoloff bar on my tricone before I discovered the stainless steel Broz-o-Phonic aka Latch Lake tone bars. I loved the Manoloff bar. I would have stuck with it if I could have ever located a spare or two. This was well before the interweb and eBay & Reverb.com, etc. |
