I watched Sarah Jory play the stee and she used some sort of gadget that she laid on the strings where normally one would pick and she just worked the bar. Does anyone know what that would be. She is an awesome musician.

That was another 1 of the gadgets Buddy Emmons came up with, An E Bow.
If you watch Mr. Emmons on U tube play Manchin on the Hill, Or Once Upon a Time in the West in a band situation, He uses an E Bow for unlimited sustain on steel guitar.

Greg Heet came up - invented it. And yes, Buddy made it popular with steel guitarist.

She uses it well. She played Mansions on The Hill with it. I watched more of her videos on YouTube and am captivated by her talent.
