I've been enjoying a GS10 push pull that needed a pickup. I found and early 70's original (17.5k) that was sent as a non working pickup. I was able to get it working without a rewind. It sounds amazing but the hum seems louder than than most of my other single coil guitars. Are these pickups known for being noisy or do I need to double check my ground? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a GS10. BTW the tone and volume controls have been removed. Thanks
Dave

If you are talking about a standard Emmons pickup (as opposed to a dedicated GS-10 one -- I don't if there was such a thing?), I've got an original Emmons pickup on my Emmons 12 string that is very quiet. I've never taken it to a neon-light bar but at home it is silent.

Re: wiring, I have a lot of photos of the electronics when I pulled them from Stu's GS. I'll post them if you'd like to see them.
He had a scratchy volume pot that I was replacing and I didn't do my homework, wired everything up and found that the replacement was a bigger diameter than the originals and did not fit in the damned cavity. Had to order parts.

Since the controls have been removed do you still have a ground connection to the changer?

Ah! So now it's a used guitar! A floor model. Most stores sell those at a discount!

I actually look at things like SocMedia postings by the maker, of a friend's Emmons ReSound 65 being played by a hot shot on the Opry (with publicity photoshoot and all), presumably before delivery to him, and I think....hmmmm.
I guess I'm assuming that there's some financial consideration to the friend for the use of his guitar and for the delivery of his no-longer-quite-brand-new axe.

I know you are joking, Lee, and for most sure, this is not that.
