This guitar is practically brand new. I bought it a couple of years ago but never got around to learning how to play it.
Sounds great, everything works correctly.
Asking $950, includes original hard shell case and 2 sets of extra strings. This item lists for $1,400 new retail. Buyer pays shipping, or you can pick it up in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
You can learn more about it at the manufacturer's link here: https://goldtonemusicgroup.com/goldtone/instruments/pbs-8

these are great guitars.
I've always tuned G6/Em7 (EGBDEGBD)
I think Emmons preferred tuning up to A for dobro. _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

The most popular tuning is typically G6, low to high:
EGBDEGBD

that tuning works well on 8-string lap as well. |

As Ed McMahon used to say to Johnny Carson, "You are correct sir!"
I play more 6 string G tuned dobro and lap steel than anything eles in the steel guitar family of instruments, but when it comes to 8 string lap steel I play other tunings to try to get out of the old comfort zone.
But the great thing about G6 on 8 string dobro is that a player can get a rich tone out of the guitar because you're "loading" the cone with beefy strings. And with an 8 string resonator you typically don't get as big a sound because there are 25% more strings distributing the load on the cone. _________________ Mark |

Yessir, I can imagine that is the case. My resonator is the 6-string version of the above 8-string, literally a PBS-D Gold Tone. I have wanted one since learning that Auldridge played an 8-string on occasion. They're solid guitars! |
