After doing more research, it seems that the Excel D10 is not that much lighter than my GFI D10, so perhaps the way to for me is getting a S12 model that has a lever that will switch between the E9 and B6. (dont know what the model is really called, but I think you get the idea) (web site says 30 pounds) If you have one that you are willing to part with, please send me a message. Even if you have one that you arent willing to part with, I would like to hear your input on these steel guitars.
