I have a 6138k maverick. Indicating that this guitar came from the factory with a knee lever. I have two pieces from that knee lever but not what I need to reinstall it. My question is would the knee lever from a 6148 work on the 6138k?
And the guy is calling it an up knee lever? Does that mean it bends the string up or is that some reference to installation?

| Photos would help identify which pieces you have and what you may need. Mavericks I have known do not do lowers but "up" might refer to a vertical lever or a raise mechanism. |

| I assume you are looking at the Gear Guy's up lever on Ebay. That is a vertical lever. |

| your knee lever needs a big spring on it to pull the d back up to c# as it originally came from the factory. the maverick knee lever is special to mavericks and all pulls won't have that. |

a bigger helper spring was added left of the lever. not factory. original spring wraps around the base of the lever.

This is correct.
All I have is an L piece and the 2 brackets that hold the rod to the body for the knee lever.
Sounds like the one o. Ebay would not work unfortunately.

Looks like a repurposed drum brake shoe hold down spring.. As long as it works....

Being a pretty good hand with drum brakes, I had the exact same thought.  But like you said, as long as it works.

The torsion spring that is on the shaft should be more than enough to overcome the string tension unless they have oversized strings and have the whole thing out of adjustment.
Some people do weird S*** for unknown reasons and think that they are making it "better".
