Up for sale is a Keyless Black 1984 Kline 12 string Universal. 8 pedals, 5 knees levers. Copedent is shown in the pictures. I have owned the guitar since 2019 and bought it from the original owner. It was very well cared for by both of us. I played it for about 2 years and decided that the universal tuning is not for me. It has been sitting since and it is time to let it go. If you know about Kline steels, you know how well they are built, how well they play, and how good they sound. It really is a phenomenal instrument.

This Kline is in very good shape and everything works. Not a closet queen, but also not a road relic by any means. I had Rick Troyer at Hummingbird Music go through it while I owned it and did not put many hours on it after that. While I owned it, I had Steve Hinson build one of his Brand X fiber board cases for just the body. If you have a way to transport the pedals and legs, it really is the way to go. The original hardshell case is also included and in great shape. A few small tears in tolex, shown in the pictures. I also had a custom pickup built by Scott Swartz at Steeltronics. The Lace Alumitone pickup is currently installed, but the Steeltronics pickup is included.

Summary of whats included:
1984 Kline U-12 pedal steel guitar 8 pedals 5 knees
Original Hard Shell Case and leg bag (fits steel, legs, and pedals)
Brand X fiberboard case (Body only)
Extra pickup: Steeltronics ZB style pickup.
Knee lever extension block
2 sided hex tuning wrench for changer and tuners

$2900 picked up in Nashville, TN

I do not want to ship this. I travel a decent amount and would be more than willing to meet someone a considerable distance to make the transaction in person.

Any questions, please feel free to email or pm!

TTT for a good guy and a great guitar. This Kline looks to be in great shape, and they are getting more difficult to find as the years roll by.

With 2 sets of cases and pickup choices, this is a rather nice package being offered.

If I was a universal player, this would be gone. Luckily I found a D-10 Kline a few years ago and will never part with it, they are local legends around here in Portage Co., where Joe Kline built them, just a 15 minute drive from my home. 😀
