Sharing a new arrangement I did yesterday for 8-string C6th/Fmaj7 tuning (low to high) F A C E G A C E inspired by Joni's beautiful, moving performance at the Grammy's. This is for solo steel guitar. I originally got this tuning from Bobbe Seymour who played the heck out of it. Unlike most steel arrangements that demand a fair amount of blocking, this one has a lot of clanging open strings.
Kudos to Joni for a lifetime of music.

I always enjoy and try to play through the free tabs you post, even in the weirder tunings.
To play this, the E13th was retuned from E C# B G# F# D B G#, since the gauges are close enough.
Only after did I realize that you only utilize the F# string once, but where you do, in bar 17, is very beautiful with those open strings.
I am not particularly familiar with this era of music but you seem to adapt it well to steel...
Your B11th Midnight at the Oasis (a song I never heard) was so cool that I bought the full arrangement.
This is also very pretty and well arranged!
And I know what you mean about Bobbe Seymour...

Thanks, Joe. really appreciate the feedback.
I love Bobbe's ideas and tone on C6/Fmaj7. He snuck a variation on the "Lady Bird" turn around in there. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Thanks, Mike but the audio isn't a steel guitar , it's output from the editing software I tweaked to get as close to a steel sound as it allows - and that's not too close. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Oops…I should have really listened closer to the sound (embarrassed emoji here). The arrangement is really nice. I really like solo steel pieces and will be working on this one. Thanks for doing the arrangement.
