Wow, cool pic. I’ve also heard that Tom Morrell was an amazing guitar player.
Would love to have heard either of them… |

Someone on here many years ago posted a picture of Curly playing standard guitar in a hotel lounge band while in town for a concert gig. |

I remember hearing years ago that Curly was a pretty good trumpet player too. |

He played trumpet and steel on at least one of the old Merle Travis records--switched back and forth on the same tunes. And yeah, he wasn't too shabby!

I remember back in 1980 at the Jeffran College , Jeff telling his story of "Trial by Fire" his first gig at the black poodle club in nashville.
He said he got to the club to play a gig and there was Curly on guitar and Buddy Emmons on bass. _________________ GeorgeBoards S8 Non Pedal Steel Guitar Instruments

He played “trumpet” on “The Boxer”, or should I say, with a trumpet. |
