Bumping this to the top! I can't find them at the local hardware chains.

Surely they're not exclusive to steel guitars?

Ace Hardware did have some spacers; a trifle larger than the originals, but serve the same purpose. Maybe .30c each...

Have you tried to contact Billy Knowles at Steel Guitar East? I would think he might have them.

I know Billy has them, but he has a minimum order. These things, if you can find them in a regular hardware store they'd be cheap as chips!
