Hello.
Could anybody help me get a date of manufacture on an Emmons Push/Pull Single Neck 12-String? Serial Number is #162, with a rosewood finish and a wood neck. Best I can tell, the serial puts it around '79 or '80, but I figure some of you would know better than me.
Thanks. |

Just to clarify, I don't own this guitar, I'm looking at it for sale. The owner told me the serial number, and we had a bit of a miscommunication. It's either serial #162 or #126. I'm waiting to hear back to see which serial number it is. |

Daniel,
The serials for those basically tell you nothing about the date, the best way to determine a general date of manufacture is by its features. If it has narrow cast pedals it is post 1974, if it has LeGrande style pedals it is post 1980. Butterfly tuners were introduced around 1978. With the exception of 1960s guitars, the year model has no real bearing on the value. We'd love to see pics! _________________ Co-owner and operator: Emmons Guitar Co. |

Oh, that's right. I forgot about the butterfly tuners. The features put this one to '78 or '79.
Thanks, Mr. O'Neil |
