Hey MSA fans. I wanted to say that I really like The L-fret option on MSA’s guitars. Way cool especially useful in dark venues.
Does anyone know if they have made these Lighted fretboards to retrofit on other guitars. Or if they could special make some for other brands.
Also does anyone have an up close picture of an L fretboard that they can send |

Lighted fretboards, to fit other brands, is NOT their prime business.

If you go to the top of this page to SEARCH, Type in "Lighted Frets". It will go to a post about lighted frets. There is a picture of Dick Wood's MSA with lighted frets. I have seen something about MSA lights have some sort of rechargeable battery pack for power.
When I built a steel about 1970. I made plexiglass fret boards and thought about putting lights under the frets. At the time only filament bulbs was available, They ate batteries. With the LED lights available now it would be possible.
At a Christmas party, In a joke gift exchange, I got a commode light, That has possibilities for a light under a guitar. BJ |

This is not a close up but shows the fretboard in a dark room.
I could take a picture of the fretboard if you want.
The fretboard looks standard with knight chess pieces.
What are you looking for in a picture of the fretboard?

Kyle Bennett posted that MSA would indeed be making retrofit L-Frets for other steels. I don't know what happened; that thread is closed. _________________ 1989 Mullen PRP SD-10, 2021 Williams S-10, Quilter TT-12. |

When I asked Kyle some time ago about putting lights on my 2011 Studio Pro he said they could do it, but strongly discouraged me because while it’s not much to add on to a new guitar, putting it on a built guitar means taking the whole thing apart and would be quite expensive and take a lot of time. I assume putting them on a different brand is the same issue. _________________ Christopher Woitach
