I got some sets of these strings from Amazon. Anybody tried them or have a comment. My thought is they seem to be sub optimal. Not as bright or clear harmonics and seem to die in a short time. I really dont know the story behind them comments? |

Funny you should mention. I have a box of them from B0b, and I just put new ones on last night ! I have not made a sound comparison in years. I liked their sealed packaging preventing oxidation that I once experienced, for example, with some Jagwires, and GHS, wrapped in paper envelopes without a seal. The sound was not noticeably different to my non-expert ears when I used to use Jagwires. SIT is a well known brand, and standard on certain newly manufactured guitars. I buy them by the box as they have been satisfactory and reliable, never broke one yet, etc; but I have not done sound comparisons lately either, so maybe its time to shop around. _________________ Derby SD-10 5x6; GFI S-10 5x5; GFI S-10 5x5; Zum D-10 8x7; Zum D-10 9x9; Fender 400; Fender Rumble 200; Nashville 400; Telonics TCA-500. |

I have been using them several years,no complaints.
Maybe some subtle EQ adjustments may sweeten them up to your liking. |

I have used SIT strings for over 30 years with no problems. Did you get SS or Nickel? I prefer the nickel but some folks use stainless steel. They have both as Emmons gauges. I have them on 8 different pedal steels and several lap steels. |

Thanks Michael and Larry. I have the nickel plated ones. Amazon is blowing these sets out really cheap. I will give them another shot. .. |

I have used SIT 12 Universal strings Since about 2017. I had used another brand for years and see or hear no difference.
I have ordered them from Just Strings since I went to 12 string.
I had a problem a few months ago I ordered 6 sets of U12 from Just Strings. 3 of the sealed packs was short the 3rd string in them. I contacted SIT direct by an E-mail. and informed them of the problem. They sent me a E-mail thanking me for contacting them and wanted my address. A few days later a package was in my mail box. When I opened it, They sent me 3 .011 strings and a full set of 12 U nickel strings. Can't beat that. |
