That was great! Can you or anyone else explain what he was doing there? Dropping his low string down to what? He didn’t seem to have to adjust the pedal on that string.

then pulled back to G# with the pedal. ..."

Actually Ron; yes open 10th string from B down to F# open; then just pushing that pedal should raise the new F# note to A.
