This has been discussed here sometime in the past.
That is/was my first Mullen guitar Ron is playing. The event was a pilot for some new country network that failed. I was in the house band. Ron asked to play my guitar as he was only playing 2 songs with Clinton and there was really no space on stage to accommodate another steel.

Ron played with such emotion as he was a very emotional man under all those jokes he told.

I am so proud that he and I were friends for some 40 years. He would always come stand in front of our sound booth at the conventions and try to block my view of the stage.

I remember the first thing he ever told me when he heard me play for the first time, way back yonder.

"you have hands, fingers, feet and everything else, but if you don't put your heart into your playing, then you are not really playing". True words.

I will miss my friend.
