| Tryin to hop that train and get a ramblin but I have to carry an amp for my lap steel. Any tips for aspiring ramblers? |

How loud do you need to be? What sort of tone(s) are you looking for? There are many relatively inexpensive portable amps such as the Danelectro Honeytone that should give you the power you require.

This is a good choice. Runs on AA batteries or you can buy an AC adapter.
It's loud enough for a small room, good for practice, can play an audio source into it while playing your instrument.

| I LOVE my Roland Mobile Cube. It sounds great, runs on batteries, and it is really small, light and compact. Plus it has inputs for guitar, mic, and backing tracks. |

Blackstar Fly 3 watt. Runs on 6-AAs, or AC power. Surprisingly good tone.

| I vote for the Roland Mobile Cube.....rally nice tone & sound for a small very portable amp......Bobby Ingano played his Frypan through his all week, taking it everywhere at The ResoSummit in Nov.....I was very impressed with the Mobile Cube.....of course Bobby's touch & tone is fantastic..... |

Ditto on the Roland. Have yet to hear the Blackstar but told it sounds good too. Fishman makes the Loudbox but it is geared more for an acoustic guitar. The price is up there too. I think it runs about $600.

My Roland Street Amp is an excellent portable for me. Use it for lap steel and arm pit guitars, have even tryed it on the pedal steel for small out door gigs.......works great

is "rambling" "busking"? If so, resinator guitar by itself. If a little amplification is required, the Roland Cube is excellent. If you're in a loud invironment, it's hard to beat the Roland Street Cube EX. Mic input, guitar channel and an aux input for backing tracks (if used). A little pricey but will play at 50 watts for 6 hours or so with a fresh charge of batteries.
