Hey there folks. I had a local guy reach out to me wanting more information on this pedal steel that he's selling. I didn't have any info for him based on the specific logos and stickers on the steel not matching the other Miller Customs I've seen on the web. Figured I'd post it here and hope that y'all might be able to help identify more about this guitar!

Since it's for sale, it seems to be a 7x3 set-up in definite need of some work. So far the price he's asking is $2800 plus shipping, but I'm hoping that priced can be honed in for him once we get more info on the steel.

Thanks for the help![/img]

The photo uploader doesn't seem to be working very well for me, so hopefully it's not bad practice to post a link to the Reverb.com listing so y'all can look at it. Here y'all go!

I don't know too much about the Miller guitars. this one looks to be at least 50 years old and if it's in definite need of some work as you say, he should probably bump it down from 'excellent' condition. the standard set-up on a D-10 (that's double ten, as opposed to calling it a 20 string double) pedal steel is 8 pedals and 4 or 5 knee levers, so it's a bit lacking in that department too.

price is probably a bit high but you never know. pedal steels tend to be priced higher than they should on Reverb, but so does most everything.

here's links to a couple other Millers that have been listed here in the last few years, they don't come up often. as you can see, they were priced considerably lower than 2800 and the first is from just a couple months ago

I recently had the twin of this guitar. Great sounding, with a short scale. Once set up correctly can play very well. I have the correct sticker for the front, if you’d like one let me know and I’ll send it along. I would recommend a price of 1500-1700 for this guitar if it’s in fine working order. $2800 is pie in the sky. If you can get it on reverb great, but if you want to sell it here, you’ll need to lower the price considerably. Jmho. Good luck!

I’m with Abe on this guitar and it’s value. This is a very old guitar that was decent in its day, but has little as far as collector value. Build-wise, it was arguably better than an early ‘Bud, but the brand just never caught on. This one has an unused cross rod, so it could be upgraded to an 8+3 or 7+4 configuration. Since it has handles, I’d guess it was built in the late 1960’s, as most builders had stopped using handles by about 1970. Looks to be in good shape for its age, but the changer, the most important part, is an unknown until it’s had a proper setup.

Handles on the guitar, And a pull and release changer dates it back to the 1960's. When the pedal steel was young and having growing pains.
