One of 90 to matriculate from Kalamazoo between 1948 and 1956. Player-grade excellent. Not a museum piece, it has its share of weather-checking, bumps, bruises, dingers and scratches, but is structurally A-OK. No case. Purchased from the estate of steel guitar great Sonny Curtis. All original as far as I can tell, aside from the tuner buttons. The original Kluson buttons were in an advanced state of disintegration (which is quite common), so I replaced 'em. I pulled off the fragile Plexiglas fingerrest and its mounting hardware (which I do with all of my Gibsons -- I find them obtrusive) and put it in a box. The fingerrest is in good shape -- no cracks or repairs -- and will ship with the instrument. Strung up for C6 with a re-entrant D on top (C-F-A-C-E-G-A-C-E-D). $950.00 shipped to the lower 48.

Just to be clear, the pickup and electronics are all working evenly for all strings? Have you tested the pickup output?
Thank you

Thanks for your interest, John.
The pickup's output seems reasonably balanced across all ten strings. The controls seem to operate as intended; none are noisy or intermittent.
It's generally been my philosophy with vintage instruments that "if it ain't broke -- don't fix it." This one ain't broke. I don't remember ever removing the control cavity cover to inspect the electronics. So no, the pickup output has not been "tested," aside from aural confirmation that it does indeed pick-up and put-out. |
