I have a Sarno Octal preamp, power amp, and speaker. I am wondering if I could make a Dry Wet set up by adding a sarno classic with reverb and another speaker? Would I also need a 2nd power amp? Currently using a carvin 200 watt power amp.

That would be a pretty cool set up no?

Maybe a better way to go would be with a Sarno Revelation preamp. It has parallel processing and stereo outputs. You can put the reverb in the effects loop and use one return for the reverb side of your speaker setup. Tone wise both sides would match as well. The Classic Preamp uses Octal tubes and there would be difference in tone with the two different preamps unless that is what you are looking for.

I'm no expert on the various wet/dry setups people do, but my general observation has been that the dry mono sound would be thru a good preamp and power amp and guitar type speaker for TONE. Then the "wet" side is often done without any preamp, just a stereo effects unit(s) into a simple stereo power amplifier into a Left and Right speaker on each side of the mono-dry speaker. It can be pretty simple to split off the preamp's signal to feed an effects unit to complete a wet/dry setup.

Does this make sense?

Is this for a live setup or for a studio recording setup?

In my home studio I can split off a dry signal using a direct box and send the dry signal using a XLR cable to a preamp in the control room then into my DAW.
