When I changed my strings before the session, because I was nervous and tugged a little to hard to "set" the strings, I put thin spots in them, so I could not play 3 note chords in tune and reduced myself to playing single notes or two notes, requiring a minuscule slant for two notes.
Then, Buddy comes in...
The bridge is a nod to Joni Mitchell's "For Free".

Very nice, Chris. I enjoyed your music. I wouldn't be able to play a lick with Buddy looking over my shoulder...

Thank you, Larry.
When I played the PSGA show, in Armonk in the late 80's, and Buddy was playing at it, I had worked up "Whiter Shade Of Pale, playing chords on the E9 while playing the melody on C6 with an Ebow, Buddy and Peggy were there and left the room at the beginning of my set. I think they sensed my angst.

Thank you, Charlie. That means a lot to me coming from you, though, you can't go wrong with Buddy!

Thank you, Brooks! Still remember you at Dallas in '85 with that BIG Car.
I think we were in touch a few years ago.
I'm sure you folks kicked up some dust at your RI jam on 11/19.
Keep after it!
(I mean,
not too much dust, as it might not be good for the changer)

Wow! So musical!!

Intonation and touch is exemplary - from both of you!

While I did some dates with 'E' playing Telecaster, I'm pretty sure I couldn't even function if I had been sitting behind my steel.

This sounds like two master players: congratulations, Chris, and thank you for sharing it.

(What's the significance of the photo?)

Thank you very much, Roger. The pic is of the Lakehouse after I moved out and was being fixed up, to be sold.
Really drafty and many cords of wood were used for heat.
It's in Craftsbury, Vermont. where I went to Sterling institute and studied forestry and agriculture and cut trees, in '77/'78, mostly softwoods, for lumber.
I ended up working on 3 dairy farms. That was when dairy farms were 60-100 head as opposed to the 500-1000 head there are now, mostly owned by foreigners with automated milking.
This one farm didn't let their cows out all Winter and one of my favorite memories is when we let them out the barn in the Spring, they'd be prancing and kicking. What a sight!
The next day, they were all sore and had trouble walking.
I wrote "Lakehouse Waltz" on a Sho~Bud Pro II and I played a '74 wood neck Emmons on the session.

That's reminiscent of Jeff Garden's family home in New Hampshire; steep gables for snowfall (none of those in Florida!) and its pastoral surroundings.

I love the idea of the frolicking cows! I've seen footage of just such a reaction when they've been liberated in springtime. I know animal husbandry/breeding/milking is a business and one that I benefit from along with everyone else, but I can't dwell for long upon the lot of livestock who have no control of their situation without pangs of guilt.

Getting back to your music, is there a chance that Buddy was also a bit on edge? Smile You certainly seem to have overcome any insecurities judging from the performance.

Nice melody!

If Buddy was nervous, I sure didn't notice.
David Smith-bass, Rick Plant- metal dobro guitar, Bob Matter-Drums, Skip Mitchell engineer at Bobbe Seymore's studio in Goodlettsville. TN., maybe 1990.
At some point, Buddy looked at me with "the look" and said, "Chris, have you thought about switching to decaf?". :0)

I pretty sure it's buttoned up for Winter, Craig, unless that band of squirrels' breading program was successful and the offspring have breached the perimeter.
I was married in the field below the house.

Craig,
With multiple sclerosis and all my own material needing to be sorted and some tunes needing to be written or completed, uploading Buddy's , Jerry Byrd's or Speedy's music from my collection is not a priority for me right now.
