Has anyone tried the 40 watt Spark Amp? If so what are your thoughts and is it good for live gigs? |

Dennis, I'm surprised you got no response. These are 40 watt amps with the small speakers? If that's the one you're thinking about then no it's not going to hang with a band gig. There was a few forum members talking about these as a practice amp. Ron Hogan had some sound clips. |

I used mine once for a band practice. We played low and it did the trick. Not recommended for a live gig. I use it all the time for practicing. |

Great little amp.. I use mine a lot at home. I think it could cover a duet/trio low volume (restraunt/wallpaper type gig) for pedal steel, and louder gigs with other instruments like 6 string or even bass. It comes with a good app that allows you to choose lots of pedal / amp combos and access to a 'user library' that you can download from or post to, and pairs with your phone (Bluetooth) to play rhythm tracks from YTube etc. You can couple it with a rechargeable battery as well (aftermarket). |

I have one -- it did well at a steel jam -- but the other day I tried to record with it and let's just say the digital sound/sample quality was not high enough for me to hit "record" -- too many digital artifacts and just generally not sounding good in the headphones. _________________ Guacamole Mafia - acoustic harmony duo

You can go to their iCloud and I have about 4 steel presets there you can use. Once you test them and download, tweak to you liking. Search under Ron hogan or hogan or steel guitar. |

I've been using the Spark for winery or restaurant jobs and it did just fine and with Ron Hogan's setting from the sound cloud, it sounds really good.
I now have the Cab that is a 140 watt companion powered speaker cabinet that goes with it. I will be using it at a dance this weekend and I'm pretty confident it will be plenty loud and the sound is very nice. _________________ MSA Millennium D10, Justice SD 10 Patriot, Rittenberry Prestige,
