That's a good record. Buddy plays some great stuff as usual. I read that Buddy played a Carter on this record.

Some discussion on that break that Buddy does. Of course, what I'm doing is not exact, but the break created some ideas off of Buddy's ideas. Here's some playing and ideas on it.

I heard Gene couldn’t stand C6 for some reason ( possibly even if Buddy played it!.. lol ) word on the street is you could get fired if you attempted it. I honestly think this break is on the E9th neck…not that he couldn’t replicate it on a broom if he wanted to! Either way it’s another wonderful solo from the Maestro himself, so beautifully played!

I'd consider it advanced. But if you take it slow, you can learn things from it. Even a few nuggets.

Seems to my that Boo Miller told me Gene told him that too when he started playing with him.

But back to Buddy,... that man truly had it all. His musical taste maybe foremost and then his ability to execute what he was hearing in his head.

Nice one Ron! First I wrote it out in manuscript - the notes and rhythms. Then I notated which notes are picked cleanly and which are slid to. So now I can can play it pretty well. At a quarter-speed. Maybe in my next life. Smile Buddy's thought process is so logical and musical. In awe.

That's why the Back Neck is called "The two-week notice neck"..ah..ha....LOL In the real Country Music world. Some folks ONLY like Classic Country Music and Western Swing is NOT Country Music or sounds like Country Music as those two STYLES are NOT alike and some folks just do NOT like anything but Country Music.

Buddy was surprised that he got away with the Night Life intro and turn around on prices album. I believe he thought that the producer would say no.
