Just saw a post from Guy Cundell where he made a really nice Tab of him playing this on a Resonator. I had mentioned that I had tabbed and posted this for E9th sometime back, but must've lost my mind, cause I can't find it, and not wanting to have misspoke I'll post it WITH TAB now.
Before I picked up this new MSA (Jolly Rancher) I was asked to come down and make sure it was too my liking.
So I spent a week with my "Brother" Scott Anderson from MSA, over at his house putting the guitar to the test. I've never had a more PERFECT guitar, as I didn't need to do anything to it, it just fit. Anyhow I was playing When You Wish Upon A Star in Scotts studio just messing around and Scott said, "why don't you tab that out so the rest of us can know what you're doing". I'm not a fan of Tab, and even less of a fan of Tabbing, but I'd do just about anything for Scotty ... So here t'is (Please forgive the poor Color, this guitar is GORGEOUS and I was, sometime still am having trouble with lighting and getting color right)
Just remembered why I couldn't find it here... I kept getting a DEBUG prompt when trying to upload the pictures of the TAB ... so I put them up on DropBox and hopefully you can download from the link below. ... Just checked and the link works ... but the 3 pages may be out of order, but you'll figure it out.

Just gorgeous, Dale - thanks!
And thanks for the good, clean look at your chiming technique - after 30+ years of using my knuckle, I'm going to have to change if I can consistently hit them like that. |

Thank you Frank, I appreciate that ... I'll never be the "tabber" you are, yours always look great. This chiming technique is just a last few years thing. I'm not much of a chimer, but when I chimed it was mostly with my palm/edge of hand or knuckle. The issue I had with both those methods was having to know how many frets I had to be ahead of where my palm or knuckle was, all the while not being able to really see what fret my palm or knuckle was. Then I was watching Travis Toy chiming and he was using the tip of his finger. Well that made chiming so much easier (I'm still not a great chimer) that I could hardly believe it. NOW I can see where the "chime" frets are 3,4,5,7,9,12 ahead of where the bar is, because I can see the tip of either my little or ring finger tip. I'm no longer blocking the view of the chime frets with the back of my hand. Kind of a game changer for me. _________________ Dale Rottacker, Steelinatune™

Hi Dale
Excellent - just absolutely Excellent!
And I agree with Frank and your assessment of the chiming technique of just using the tip of pinky finger.
I just recently re-discovered that same technique via an old Paul Franklin DVD entitled "Musical Concepts for E9th" .....from 1999 !
And thanks again for re-posting this great clip

Thank you Ron (And I agree with Frank and your assessment of the chiming technique of just using the tip of pinky finger.) ... something else I've tried is to use the top of fingernail itself ... a little harder to accomplish, but pretty clean chime when you hit it.
Larry (Dale, beautiful job and wow that guitar looks and sounds awesome.) my friend ... I've been challenged lately with my lack of videography skills ... you change one little lighting thing and everything changes ... this picture shows its beauty a little better.

(Lovely, Dale!!) Thank you Jim
Billy, LOL (Awesome job on a beautiful song. Great looking guitar with much more than acceptable tone. Lol
Loved it.). THANK YOU!!! ... My recording methods have been a bit lacking lately among other things, so things don't sound recorded as well as they do live, but I'm working on it.
In case anyone missed the actual TAB I uploaded to Dropbox, I finally figured out how to change my tab pictures to a format the Forum can use, so here you go... learning is a process

Hi Dale I liked that. Some lovely chords and great arrangement. I have often thought of having a go after hearing Chet's version. Where do you find the time to work it all out, record, film and Tab it. Well done you. Dave |

Thank you Dale. I already raise my 1 and 2 with RKL. I'm gonna add the low f# to that lever. I see how useful that can be.... |
