How bad does this amp want to see the double 8 ohm load =(4 ohms) that is standard? I have always been able to disconnect one speaker in my twins to get a better focus especially for guitar without any ill effects to the amp. Since the Tone Master utilizes a different technology, can I do this safely with this amp?

There’ll be no problem using a higher impedance speaker, with the exception of a loss of some volume (since the mismatch reduces the available power).
