That isn't JC's old one with the back neck reinstated, is it?

Such a pretty guitar!

Yes this is his previous steel. I spent many hours restoring it to a D12. It is a real tone machine

In my admittedly limited experience, an MSA D-12 is magnificent. I had to sell mine because I was broke due to medical matters, but of all the steels I've owned, an MSA D12 is my first choice.

What is not really amazing to me, but so happy it's occurring, is that "with cabinet by Mark Giles" is becoming a definite selling point when describing an instrument for sale.

Of course, Mark is a dear friend of mine and I've owned and played a few of his guitars (currently including a beautiful maple/rosewood Fessenden to die for), so seeing others praise his work is gratifying to me.

Just a beautiful steel. To satisfy the curiosity of an old man, how much does the steel weigh?

I don’t know, I would normally just weigh it and tell you, however I got plowed by a car last week and I can’t lift anything that heavy at the moment. The steel isn’t actually very heavy, not much more than any standard D10.

My lacquer MSA D10 8x8 weighed 77lbs in the original Red Dirt case.

This is a guitar I built for myself. It served me well for several years.

Selling for $5.5k or willing to discuss trades for comparable steels. I am interested in Zums or Vintage Emmons with wider pedal spacing.
