Is it the Stringmaster pickups or tripod/custom pickups??
What scale length is it??
How do you know it is 1957 confirmation??
Does it have original case and what color is outside??

1957 confirmed under pickups. SM pickups. Original case that someone painted black and then tried to scrape off! but in good shape. I'll have to check the scale for you.

Hope that helps....in a Honest way, as I'm not a store or seller; I only work on and restore steel guitars for last 30 years and know how much it costs to put one together with prices of the material and machining/casting.

| It seems like the "price per neck" formula has gone down the tubes. Single Deluxes (the factory models, not the orphan string master necks) bring about the same as a D8, in the $1200 to $1500 range. Triples and quads are a hard sell to players but the part 'em out guys love them. Again, in the same $1200-$1500 range. I did see a triple sell for $1650 recently on eBay and a week later it was being sold in pieces. Dang. |

| When I bought my T-8 six or seven years back, the D-8s were bringing more than the T-8s. I think the gap has only increased since. This is based on SGF ads, not the world at-large. Asking prices on S-8s and D-8s have really gone up. |

The Twelfth Fret near me in Toronto has one advertised at $2150 Canadian. That's about $1600 USD. I think their research their prices well. It's listed on their Instagram page.

I don’t mind sharing I recently got $1600 for a single neck fender deluxe 8 in very nice but not perfect condition. Bought it for $1500.
I’ve also seen the price per neck formula not really hold true although it’s a nice guideline. There’s value in the portability of smaller guitars. Big guitars get you more guitar, which is either a positive and negative depending on who you are.
D8 stringmasters aren’t so bulky though. I’ll probably sell my dual pro but not my stringmaster. They’re amazing and sought after instruments so I’m sure you’ll get a good price

I'll add this - refinishing or finish damage that's severe can drop the value 25-30% (refinishing reduces the value by 50% on six strings!).
When asking for help with values it's almost impossible to be accurate unless hi-res pictures of the top, back front and back are posted as well; and no offense to Bob, but descriptions need to be detailed - this one didn't have any model info (or details as to how the date was determined)while Fender made several D-8's

Shame about the case... at least it's still there. Looks like late '50s... worth 1200-1400 with the painted case. The bridge covers and legs are there, at least... the body's not in that bad of a shape, what we can see of it.

| Nice piece! Obviously not a refin. IMO D8s are much more sellable these days than T8s. They are more portable and not that many players left that know more than two tunings, or have need of them. I don't think the price per neck rule is valid anymore. Kind of like how you will pay more for an old Princeton Reverb than a Twin. |
