This is my favorite version of this song along with the way that the French Family Band plays it. It's a take-off of the Buddy Emmons version with some really cool twists thrown in. I had to slow it down to get the part at 0:22 which so far I can't play up to speed on guitar.

Jim had a really well written tab book for this album. This album also has Emmons' never self-recorded tune "Brown Derby" ! |

Buddy plays that same lick on this live version: https://youtu.be/u_qZwWwGgB0?si=Ir52jOSoGGzKTPBk
I play it with pedal 6 on fret 3 and 8, strings 8, 6, 4 _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

I have the notes as: C F# C F B F B F and found them all over the place in sequence but never thought of moving the moving the bar up to fret 8.
Thanks Scott!
Perhaps that move would make it easier on standard guitar as well. Seems very similar to the Jimmy Day riff used to end a C6 instrumental on Golden Steel Guitar Hits.

I figured out how Mr. French plays it on guitar and it's quite compact and easy to play fast:

On my D13 S-12 guitar pedal 6 works as you said on C6 except I also have to hold my RKR in at the same time.
Amazingly I also found out that if I play the same strings at fret 2 and use my D13 LKV by itself I get the same notes! |

Two great versions worthy of some study!! _________________ 2016 Williams D12 8 x 8, 2015 Williams D12 8 x 8, 2023 Williams S12 4 x 5, Milkman Amps, 1974 Gibson Byrdland |
