Oh boy that is great timing, I have a copy on the way. Glad I looked in on this one Andy. I recently retuned my old resonator to D and really like it and have been sitting in with a couple other old guys and having a ton of fun.

Open D is a great tuning especially because with a tweak of one string you can get Dm, D6th, D7, DADGAD and Dmaj7 tunings.
