Truthfully, sometimes you don’t want to mess with perfection, which is what Patsy’s recording is. But sometimes it’s impossible to resist.

I recorded the bass part first, which is really what inspired me to want to play the song. I played all the guitars as well—the only instrument not played by me is drums. I’m not a Country musician but I try to understand as much as I can about every style of music I listen to. All the parts were recorded in complete takes, no punching in.

I played my Clinesmith cast aluminum lap steel in C6 (6 string—I’ve removed the two bottom strings). I hope you get some enjoyment out of it.

Very nice, good tones and flawless performance.
It wouldn't bother me to hear how you get such clean tracks.

Really great Mike, being outta your wheelhouse, but as good as you are you can play any style with command.

Love the new hat too, gives you the street cred!

Craig, that was Buddy Charleton’s hat.

[Edit: Autocorrect changed Charleton to Charleston and I didn't catch it.] Mad

Good job, Mike!

Great musicality on all of the instruments (bass, acoustic and electric guitar, lap steel guitar) that you played.

Speaking of playing country songs with a jazz approach, I don't know whether you've heard these tracks, but thought you might find some inspiration in them to do more... Smile
