I just got my first pedal steel and it is missing the 5th pedal pedal rod which for now isn't a huge deal as the only change it doesn't share with another pedal/lever is dropping my 8th string from E to D I believe. Where can I find a replacement rod/what other brands rods would work? I know I can get the pedal connector from an auto parts store so doesn't necessarily need to include the pedal connector.

To the highest point of the inside of the crook it is 24 3/8in, to the tip of the crook it is 24 1/4in, total length is 24 1/2in. The ball comes off the pedal vertically and the the connector pulls back vertically and slides sideways onto the ball.

I included some photos in case that helps!
Thanks

You have a good solid old guitar for your first one, James. You can work with that 5 + 4 arrangement for a lifetime.

I am a 12 string player too. Cool

Hi James,

Show us a pic of the back side of your Dekley. I, too, am a fan of Dekleys, and have 2 of them, 1 10- and 1 12 -string unit. I also have some spare pedal rods, and if you cant get a replacement, I'll give you one at the cost of shipping.

........Pat.

Chris, Yeah there are lots of options and should be great for now as I plan to just focus on E9 side for awhile and the introduce C6 side as I feel more comfortable.

Pat, Here are some more photos. Yes, it seems like a very well built instrument (sometimes heavy is good...). Thanks, I will PM you about the rod that would be a huge help!

Hi James,

The reason I was asking for a pic of your psg, is to tell what kind you have. That is the kind I have, with the 12 plastic plugs on the user side. Seeing this, you can add 1 more pedal or knee lever (max 6x4 or 5x5) if you desire (and can find the parts.......).

Anyway, 6 x 4 is the setup I have on my 10 string. I was going to try a uni setup on my 12 string, but had to take a knee lever because one lever on my 10-string broke. Parts were lacking for such a long time, so it just sat.

I got your message about the pedal rod, and I'll pm you back.

.............Pat
