I have an Excel Superb D10 which Mitsuo built for me in 2018. I love this amazing guitar, but last night I was just gently tweaking the E9 9th string RKR D to Db lower on the and it wasn't moving. I pulled gently on the nylon tuning nut and the whole nylon & rod assy easily slipped out. The threaded portion of the rod looks nearly smooth, and I can hardly see any threads in the barrel's hole that slips into the bellcrank. It's hard to believe I could have stripped it out. Its as if there were always barely any threads, and they finally somehow just let go. So, does anybody have a replacement Nylon & rod & barrel they can sell me?
The nylon & rod is about 6" (15.5cm) long.
In the first pic, its on the first bellcrank just below the center of the guitar.

I could be wrong on this, but it appears that the other intact rod/bellcrank assemblies have no threads at the bell crank end. I'm pretty sure there's a set screw in one end of the bell crank bushing that tightens against the Rod to hold it in place. This is far more common than a threaded bushing in that location...Older Sierras are the only rigs I've seen with a solid hex tuner that turns a rod threaded on the bell crank end.

it also appears that the nylon on the rod in question is well bottomed out on its threads which probably caused the rod to start spinning at the bell crank end. The marks on the rod at that end look more like it was spinning against its locking set screw.

In general- the only threaded rods in later Excels are under the cross shaft- as there is basically no access and they use Delrin keepers. On top of the cross shafts it has been my experience that they are all trapped by a set screw in the end like Ross says.

You guys are geniuses, and I am not! Thank goodness for the SGF. YES YES: The threads are between the nylon tuner and the rod, and there is a set screw in the barrel that I couldn't see until I removed the barrel.
Phew!!
