Nice Doug!
How do you like that Oceans 11? I've tried a few reverb pedals, but I usually just keep going back to the built-in reverb on my 1979 Vibrosonic.
That Mullen is a beauty - only guitar (steel or otherwise) I regret selling was a Mullen RP D-10. They are TOP notch. |

The Mullen has been great. I bought it a couple of years ago and I've played it on about 200 gigs so far and had no problems at all.
I use the Oceans 11 mostly for the Shimmer effect. I've tried other pedals with shimmer, but I like this one best... just my preference. It also has a nice spring reverb.
I recently got the Mr. Moto pedal by J Rockett (the red pedal). It recreates 1960's surf tones very well: spring reverb and tremolo. The reverb is one knob... the level. That's good though... easy to use, and it's the classic, splashy Fender spring reverb sound. Sounds great on pedal steel IMO.
I run the reverbs and delay through the effects loop in the amp, and the OCD overdrive between the steel and the volume pedal. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

I just so happens I took a rig snap last night, so here it is. The cabs are out of shot. Most of the effects I need I can get with the MX200 in the rack. The EHX synth box is for a couple of numbers where I need to be weird. These things aren't supposed to work with steel, but this one does

Doug, could you compare and contrast your G2 to your old push/pull? |

My playing days are over (for an audience, anyway; Covid shut down theatres and, even 'though they're back in business, dialysis has done the rest) but how I wish I could have one more shot at it!!!
I indulged myself by buying a TT-12 some months ago and I think it's the best steel amp I ever played through. Some have said the the TT-15 is better suited to larger venues but I'd be surprised if mine wouldn't be more than adequate.
I'd just like the chance to find out! I'm getting a great sound here in my music-room. I use no FX pedals, but a 'line-out' to my Roland 80XL engages its on-board effects; they're reasonably good, and I have a real stereophonic sound as I practice (to no purpose... )
Doug: what are your thoughts about the TT-12 vs. the 15? _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Nice looking rig, Ian.
Kevin, I used a phaser back in the day. Thinking about getting another one though because the band I play with does a lot of Waylon tunes.
Joe, yes, it's a Galaxy. The finest Walmart has to offer!
Jack, it's hard to describe, but I think the Emmons has more bite. The Mullen is excellent though.
Roger, the TT-12 has a more punchy, direct kind of sound, to my ears anyway. The TT-15 has more lows and a somewhat broader sound, as would be expected from a 15". Both amps are great and it's "either/or" for most jobs. I tend to use the 12" for small rooms and for shows with sound reinforcement. I use the 15" for larger rooms with no sound reinforcement. But either one works fine for any venue. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

That's helpful, Doug. Thank you.
I guess I had better not present the idea of me acquiring a 15" cab to go with what have to Mrs Rettig. In light of what you've said, it'd be hard to j6stify with no work on the horizon. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

It does sound amazing. I'm fine as things are, especially when I consider that the Roland used to be my go-to amp in pro settings.
Now to bring up the possibility of a Gibson L-5. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Doug, I WAS kidding about the phaser. However I recommend the MXR Phase 95. It’s tiny and has the option of the 45 setting which is more subtle and one I find very useful. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

Looking good, Doug! I've been playing some shows with a guitar player that goes all in with the Waylon phaser sound, so I've been having fun pretending to be Mooney.
Good to hear about that amp, too. I think this is the last season that I can stand lugging my massive Peavey around. _________________ Marlen S12 and a ZT Club |
