Does anyone know where in East Texas these bodies were made?

| 2 possible sources for that answer would be Albert Talley or more likely Al Brisco. |

Larry Agan and Bud Carter produced them. I owned one briefly but don't have that info. There are several members who have them maybe you could PM them after a search.

Larry Agan who was killed in a auto accident and Bud Carter who has passed on now were the builders of the ETS Pedal Steel Guitars. They got the mold from Gary Carpenter of Rains Steel Guitars who sold them as Carp Steel Guitar. I brought one new from Gary and ended up selling it but sure wish I had it back. It was a Bright Red. The last account I had on the mold no one could get any information on it from their widows. They were and are a great little professional steel guitar. Get one if you have a chance too. J.R. Rose

| I agree with J R (shoulda kept my Carpsteel). It had wonderfully even tone across its compass. Alumitone pickup was a perfect match. |

| Can't answer the question, but I've got one of the first ETS steels that was a demo for them and really enjoy the guitar. I haven't had one to compare it to, but know there was some shared lineage with the Carpsteel. I'd received the guitar 2nd hand from a friend of Larry's and had found a somewhat minor problem with it and contacted Larry about it. He had me bring it to their shop in Trinidad, Tx near Corsicana, and they did a really nice workover of it. Had it repainted there, swapped in a single coil pickup that they wound in shop, and Larry even took some flagged knee levers off his own guitar and put on mine. When I received it back it was no longer a demo guitar but fully up to brand new standards and he hardly charged me for it. Nice guitars, I would have liked to see the double neck guitar that was supposedly in the works when Larry passed away, too soon, really nice guy. |

A couple of years ago Al Brisco had two guitars at Dallas show, they were rebranded ABC Guitars, so he may be able to tell you who made the body. Mitchell Smithey of MSA has an ETS, and as he worked with Bud at Carter Guitars he might possibly be able to tell you who maker was.

| Malcolm, I don't know where the bodies are , and I have an ironclad alibi. Let me rephrase that... Al has done the most research and I hope he can keep these guitars alive. They possess an amazing lively tone. Cheers! |

Hi Mitchell, over in sunny Lake Como Italy at moment, I believe Al had two of the these bodies, presumably ETS stock left after Bud’s passing. From what Al said to me I believe he will not be building anymore of the ABC, just the one for a friend and one for himself.. Shame as they were great little guitars.

| The Jackson pro 5 is a all aluminum body with ball bearings on all moving parts it is a very well made steel. Johnny Cox dose a demo on one of these on Jackson site. |
