on April 20th I lose a dear friend Ron Grant of Laredo TX. Ron was left handed steel player and was very very good. I always had difficulty I would get lost when I watched him play on the wrong side of his beautiful Mullen G2. The routine was 3 or 4 steel players would gather at him house in and play for hours then go get a Maxie Burger. Then the conversation began. Rest in piece my dear FRIEND |

I got to know Ron during the year or so I spent building his left-handed Promat D-10 8×7. He was a very nice and I must say, very patient man.
My deepest condolences go out to his friends and family. RIP Ron. _________________ Best regards,

Hi Bill, I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. My condolences to you and Ron's family. May he rest in Peace. I am sure God is looking after him.
I got to know Ron through his PROMAT build project where i assisted Lynn Stafford as a translator:)
And off course that's where i got to know Mr. Lynn Stafford too. Ever since that project i was regularly in touch with Ron Grant, he sent me some recordings of him playing his Mullen G2 and talking about his stable of guitars he had at the time. I must say he was a great player too. He was also telling me about his life in the South and how he was making a living etc..Yes i will miss him too, May he rest in Peace. |
