Hi Randy,

I just went through this, myself, having just bought a NV 400.

Look up Bob Metzger, and you can contact him for the reverb kit, which is still avaiable. And look up "Mod kits" (in the "Electronics" section of this forum). Ken Fox is still around and has kits for the chip sound upgrades.

There are other parts needed for the sound upgrade, and I do not know if Ken's kit include all parts, or just the chips.

Can't help on the Roland amp, though.......Pat.
If you need help on the other parts, let me know and we'll see what can be done.

Hi Randy,

Here's the parts list for the mod: (From Mouser Electronics, as Richard stated.)

Part:.............Quantity:
22mf @ 35v........5
2.2mf @ 35v.......2
.047mf, 100v......2
.0047mf, 100v....2
.0082mf, 100v....1
1 meg..................1
100k....................1
10k......................1
OPA2134PA........6 (TL072 on the instructions, the 2134's are better.)

Notes: all resistors are 1/8 watt, and try to get mylar capacitors.

You MUST get the instructions from Peavey, because the components on the printed circuit board are NOT labeled (C1, C6, R3, etc.)

They will e-mail the schematic, parts layout and instructions for part replacement. The Pv update kit was part# 90500048, but is no longer available. (Peavey parts: 877 732-8391, get Chris.)

Once again, the reverb mod is still available from Bob Metzger. He will e-mail the instructions.

I have installed these parts: The reverb mod is good, increasing the reverb and making it sound less bassy.
The amp mod increases bass and treble responce, making my steel sound as it should.

............Pat
This post might be moved to "Electronics".
Note: If you do this yourself, the capacitors (less than 1mf) on the board look suspiciously like resistors

Ken posted recently that he no longer offers mod
kits. The kits from him only included the OPA2134pa chips (get the Burr Brown - now Texas Instruments chips. Don't buy from eBay as there have been counterfeits sold on there that are crap.), none of those other parts that Pat listed were included. Those got changed out if you sent your chassis to Ken for his "Intense Mod". The chips are readily available from any online electronics supplier. I've gotten the from Mouser Electronics. Make sure a NV112 is the American made one. They have sockets for the chips. The Chinese ones are soldered to the PC board. If you're an experienced soldered, that should be OK. Of course, if you're great at soldering, installing the parts Pat listed would be a good move.

EDIT:
I realize that the OP was looking for a mod kit for a NV400. I only mentioned the NV112 because they use the same chips.
