Hi all, here's a YouTube clip of my Dekley steel after the restoration. Recorded through a Boss Katana 100 MK2 amp into a RØDE NTK mic. It's still a work in progress:

I have owned 2 Dekleys, and believe me, they sound fantastic.. Its a very "woody" and organic tone, yet the guitars are not made of "real" wood.. They remain one of the few great values in a used pedal guitar, as they still sell at a reasonably 'sane" price point, probably due to lack of brand hype.
Undercarriage design and build quality as good as anything of the era, and better than most. Similar to MSA , but if I remember right, there may have been a keyway machined into the round shafts so they could not slip like was possible on MSA -[rare].. I might be wrong on that, but I do remember something a bit different from the MSA, yet very similar..
In any case, the one featured in this thread sounded sweet and also sounded very well played.... bob

Fine sounding steel and played well. Good job on the rebuild.

Thanks, John Sluszny, John Widgren, Bob Carlucci and Larry Dering!

And Bob, you are right. These steels do sound amazingly good. The build quality is also top notch, imo. In my steel there aren't any machined things in the cross shafts to avoid slip. They are perfectly round but there's no problem with keeping the bellcranks in place. Thanks again!

Is that a Georgie L E66 pickup? I learned on one of the first D 10’s that came out and I had E66’s which sounded great thru my LTD! Nice job on the restoration!

Thanks, Dale. The pickup on this Dekley is a George L 10-5 with a 5 way selector switch.
