I've been playing this guitar a lot lately, A6 tuning. I took it took my (pedal steel) gig on Saturday night a played a few songs on it and it sounds amazing through my Quilter TT-12. In this clip I'm playing through a Quilter Mach III, recording direct.

Some sweet tones emanating from those machines AND from those fingers.

Thanks Ethan, it's hard to beat these old Model B's for tone!

Nigh on impossible, in my opinion.

George Beauchamp may be the single most underacknowledged and unappreciated individual in the history of electric guitars -- both Hawaiian and Spanish.

Congratulations Doug,
Perfect to have 7 strings with A6th. I have a couple of 8 strings in that key and almost never use the 8th string much, but I'd sure miss the high 5th tone if I was playing a C6th. Even the 6 string Magnatone Jewltone I got recently still has the high E and 6th string in C#. I do miss the low A a little, but it's such a nice steel I had to have it.

Oh yes, and your new Ricky guitar sounds wonderful with you playing it.
I think the bakelite's are the best sounding ones.

I'd love to have a silver one with the gold trim and clear plexiglass just for the beauty, but the tone of those never gets as good as the one you got.
Have fun picking,
Andy Very Happy

I really like the lower tones of A6 tuning, but Iā€™m more comfortable on C6, as far as the chord positions. I might put C6 (with high G and low C) on this 7-string guitar. The intervals would be the same as this tuning but in C instead of A.
