Topic: S10 Emmons Serial number |

Wondering if my assumption is correct. I have an Emmons S10 brown badge w/ wider pedal spacing with the serial number of 1154 S. Would this be a 1967?
I believe it originally was 6 pedals and a knee or 2 if any. I received it as 3 x 3, and have reconfigured it to be 3 x 4 with a standard setup.
It has an interesting mica style I have never seen before.

Fatback guitars were early '70s. I have 1218 S, it is purported to be a '73. Mine is similar, it started life with 6 pedals and no knee levers, it's Rosewood, the mica on yours is Mahogany.

It's probably a '69 or '70 according to the serial number. nice looking guitar!

| I have 1157S and the previous owner said he was told by the Emmons company that it was made in 1971. It is a fatback and was rosewood mica with brown badge (now black mica). Curiously, it's a bolt-on, but that is apparently the result of some unknown unusual circumstance. |

Thanks for sharing your history on your Emmons which is just a few numbers away from mine. The part about the bolt-on is any body's guess. Does yours have the wider pedal spacing as mine does? |

Mike, the pedals on mine are spaced the same as yours.
I saw a listing for #1155S some years ago. It had the same pedal spacing, but the pedals were the narrow type. I don't know if they were original. It had been worked on by Mike Cass. The mica looks the same as yours, although the photos were taken with a dirty lens so they are a bit hazy. I saved the photos because the number was so close to mine. I'll see if I can find the thread. |
