He folks,
I finally got my steel out after several years off. I had gotten me a Hilton pedal back before I stopped playing. I really like it. My gigging tools in the day were a Goodrich pedal with a Goodrich 6A Matchbox. I love the ability to use the tone and gain knobs. I changed the batteries in the Matchbox and got the Goodrich pedal out for testing. I thought I used to run the matchbox at about 5 on the gain for unity gain with the amp. 5 seemed a little low. Around 6 to 7 seems pretty close to unity. Before I have it checked out I wanted to ask what you folks found to be close to unity with your units.
Thanks,
John

Thanks Erv! I was thinking that’s where I use to run it years ago. Geez I’ve had it since the early 90’s. I guess bumping it up a notch or two ain’t hurting nothing. It sounds great! It’s not really a big deal but just curious. Lolol I’m sure aging components is like me. Not as stout as they use to be. Hahaha
Thank you again Erv!

John,
My model Matchbox is a 6A also, but I put an off/on switch on it so I don't need to pull the plug when I'm not using it. Very Happy

Yes Sir I need to do that myself. If your gigging it’s not a big deal but for home practicing it will be a great improvement!😬👍
