Does anyone know who played the pedal steel on this song? I think it’s probably Lloyd Green, as that’s who it sounds like to me, going by the excellent palm blocking. It’s from the album called Only a woman like you, which Spotify lists as being released in 1971. This puts it right in the middle of Lloyd’s reign as a top session player, so the timing is right.

Anyway, it’s some really great playing whoever it is.

I'm going out on a limb - I say it was Hal Rugg.

I agree with Kenny; I'd guess it's Hal Rugg. There's a few places where his touch and tone are hard to mistake.
It doesn't sound like Lloyd Green to me.

Great playing in any case!

I based my guess on that I knew Hal did Nat's "The Devil Made Me Do That" which had the cool hammer-on licks. Tone was similar to Loretta Lynn stuff in that era.

I also listened to other cuts from that album, and I didn't hear Lloyd either.
