I'm looking for a vertical knee lever kit for my pre 1985 MSA Classic. I checked with PSG Parts, they're out of stock. Any idea where I might find one?

Thanks Wayne.
Day late, dollar short. Laughing
That would be great if you could find something for me!

Jim Palenscar can make the parts, but it's over double the price.

No body said working on steel guitars was a good investment Laughing

While I'm looking... if your interested you could easily modify a carter vertical assembly to work with your guitar...if that helps. In the build I am currently doing on the builders corner I have opted for 2 carter reversing lever assemblies which the levers themselves are very close in appearance to the MSA ones, so I can move the RNR and LNR to where I want them instead of on the back rail...Those assemblies I know I have... Laughing anyways if that would work for you Al Brisco has the complete carter vertical assembly in stock, and of course I'll look out in the shop today.
thanks
wayne

Wayne,

More good info. I'm checking into that one too!
Any specific year for the Carter guitar?

Cheers,
Robert

no the assemblies that AL has will work on MSA as you can bolt them anywhere you want them then you would just need a MSA bell cranks can be made by Barry Coker...I had some made and he does a fantastic job, cross shaft and bushings and bell crank bushings and rod nuts, PSG parts still has all this in stock, stainless welding rod local shop, and collars local hobby shop. and your set.
hope this helps
thanks
wayne
PS as for the lever assemblies...go to Al's site steel guitars of canada, then go to guitars, then parts for pedal steel guitars, down load catalogue go close to the bottom and you will see the pics of the assemblies.

It seems you have to have a Carter serial number to order any Carter parts. Even though some of their parts say the will fit almost any pedal steel? I own a Sho-Bud, a older Sierra and now this MSA. No Carters Very Happy

If I recall, Deckley parts interchange with MSA? Not saying there are a lot of Deckley parts to be found either.
You may find some of the smaller parts at Ace Hardware.
