I'm pleased to hear that Brad is continuing the Forum...as b0b would want.

Let me be clear - I'm not in charge. Dave Mudgett, Lori Lee and the other moderators are as large a part of this transition as I am.

I'm glad to hear y'all are carrying on the proverbial torch...

Although I've just recently stumbled upon this site, have to say it's a great resource for someone like me trying to wrap my head around this style of instrument.

I'm super grateful this little corner of the interwebz is going to stick around longer...

I learned of b0b's passing via Doug Davis' Country Music Classics weekly email tonight. The link to his memory page was one of the most unique obituaries I've ever seen and heard. Page loads with music, pictures galore and a history of how it started. From a BBS no less! Gads, Fidonet rest in peace!

But I have to say this forum I've learned so much from reading many posts, from the answers I got to my questions. I play an 8 string Fender electric hawaiian steel guitar but not as part of a group or anything - I just love the sound and the instrument. Someone told me the tuning for that guitar since Fender had long lost the documentation (I got it in 1970 or so for $89).

But I digress. I am happy to read that the forum will live on.

RIP, he's now steelin' away I'm sure.

Cheers,
Dave

I never would have learned to play Steel or work on them without this Forum and it’s amazing community. Sharing ,caring and mountains of help and advice came from this amazing family. A monumental achievement created by this man.No surprise All you need is love was some of his inspiration. Letting his family know people who create something this wonderful give me hope for the future. All my love for this wonderful positive man and how his creation helped me to grow!
